The De Havilland Canada Dash 8 (DHC‑8) is a family of turboprop regional airliners introduced in 1984. Built by de Havilland Canada and later produced by Boeing, Bombardier and Longview Aviation, the Dash 8 replaced the four‑engine Dash 7 with a twin‑engine layout that offers lower operating costs while retaining short‑field capability. The type is sold in four sizes, from the 37‑seat Series 100 to the 90‑seat Q400, and is known for its quiet cabin and efficient cruise performance.
