Built in Wichita, Kansas, it was produced continuously for 32 years, a world record at the time, and more than 9,000 units were built. The aircraft served as a civilian executive, cargo, and passenger airliner, and was also widely used by the U.S. military as a transport, trainer, bomber, and reconnaissance platform.
