Aircraft Overview
History
The Baron 58 first flew on 23 June 1969. It extended the established Baron design rather than creating a separate airframe family, and the original Model 58 became one of the principal long-body Baron versions.
Design
Compared with the Baron 55, the Model 58 has a 10-inch fuselage stretch, double rear cabin doors, and reversible club seating. It seats four to six people and was offered with 300 hp Continental IO-520 or IO-550 engines.
Variants
The original normally aspirated Baron 58 was followed by related turbocharged 58TC and pressurized 58P models. The G58, introduced in 2005, brought a Garmin G1000 glass cockpit to the normally aspirated Model 58 line.
Operations
The Baron 58 is used for personal travel, business transport, flight training, charter, and other light twin-engine duties. Its rear doors and club seating distinguish it from the shorter-bodied Baron 55 series.
