The Lockheed T‑33 Shooting Star is a two‑seat jet trainer that evolved from the single‑seat P‑80 fighter. First flown on 22 March 1948, it became the U.S. Air Force’s primary advanced trainer for two decades. A total of 6,557 aircraft were built, including licensed versions by Kawasaki and Canadair. The T‑33 also served in other air forces and saw limited combat use in the Bay of Pigs and Indonesia.
