Lockheed 12a

Manufacturer: LOCKHEED

The Lockheed YF‑12 was a Mach 3+ high‑altitude interceptor prototype built by Lockheed. Derived from the CIA’s single‑seat A‑12, it carried a twin‑seat crew, the Hughes AN/ASG‑18 radar, and up to three AIM‑47 Falcon missiles. It set world speed and altitude records and was the basis for later aircraft such as the SR‑71 Blackbird.
