The Lockheed T‑33 Shooting Star is a two‑seat, subsonic jet trainer that evolved from the single‑seat P‑80/F‑80 fighter. First flown on 22 March 1948, it became the United States Air Force’s primary advanced trainer for two decades and was widely exported to more than 25 countries. A total of 6,557 aircraft were built, including licensed production by Kawasaki and Canadair.
