Developed from the Lockheed Lodestar transport, it replaced the Hudson in RAF service and was later adapted for the U.S. Navy as the PV‑1 and for anti‑submarine work as the PV‑2 Harpoon. It served with the RAF, USAAF, USN, and several Commonwealth air forces.
