The Air‑tractor sledge was a converted Vickers R.E.P. Type Monoplane that became the first aircraft to reach Antarctica. After a crash in 1911, the aircraft was stripped of its wings and converted into a motorised sled for the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911‑1913).
