It seats two people in a tandem seating configuration, with the pilot in the front seat. The RV series has become the most popular kit-built aircraft worldwide. As of April 2019, the RV-4 was the fourth most popular RV model, and by November 2022, 1,446 RV-4s had been completed and flown worldwide.
