History

The definitive ERJ 145 first flew on 11 August 1995, received type certification on 10 December 1996, and entered revenue service with ExpressJet Airlines on 6 April 1997. ERJ-family production ended in 2020.

Design

The ERJ 145 is a twin-engine regional jet with a swept wing, three-abreast seating, and two rear-fuselage-mounted Rolls-Royce AE 3007 turbofans. The 145 airframe is 29.87 metres long.

Variants

The ERJ 145LR adds increased fuel capacity of 5,187 kg and upgraded engines compared with the baseline 145ER. Its AE 3007A1 engines provide 15 percent more power and are flat-rated at 33.1 kN each. The 145XR adds further aerodynamic and fuel-capacity changes.

Operations

ERJ 135, 140, and 145 variants share a pilot type rating, allowing mixed ERJ fleets to use a common pilot pool.
