The Bell P‑63 Kingcobra was an American single‑engine fighter developed from the earlier P‑39 Airacobra. It featured a larger airframe, laminar‑flow wing, and a second supercharger that raised its service ceiling. Although the U.S. Army Air Forces never adopted it in large numbers, the aircraft was produced under Lend‑Lease and saw extensive use with the Soviet Air Force and, later, the French Air Force.
