The Flitfire was a special edition of the Piper J‑3 Cub created to raise money for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund during World War II. In 1941 Piper and its dealers donated 49 silver‑painted Cubs, each bearing RAF insignia, to support the British war effort and to honor the Battle of Britain.
