The Piper PA‑29 Papoose was a single‑engine, low‑wing training monoplane developed by Piper Aircraft in the early 1960s. Only one prototype was ever built, and the type never entered production. The aircraft featured side‑by‑side seating for a pilot and passenger, a fiberglass‑reinforced plastic airframe, and a 108‑hp Lycoming O‑235‑CIB engine. First flown in 1962, the Papoose represented Piper’s attempt to modernize its trainer lineup with advanced materials and a more powerful powerplant.
