The North American F‑100 Super Sabre was the United States Air Force’s first supersonic jet fighter capable of level‑flight Mach 1. It evolved from the F‑86 Sabre, adopting a 45° swept wing and an all‑moving stabilator. The aircraft entered service in 1954 and became the USAF’s primary fighter‑bomber during the early Cold War and the Vietnam War.
