History

Work on the Phenom 300 began in 2004 as a larger version of the Phenom 100. The prototype flew on 29 April 2008, and the aircraft received FAA type certification on 3 December 2009. It entered service the same month. In 2013 it was the most delivered business jet, and by March 2019 Embraer had delivered its 500th unit. A major upgrade, the Phenom 300E, was certified in March 2020, adding higher thrust engines and new avionics.

Design

The Phenom 300 is a twin‑engine, low‑swept wing monoplane powered by Pratt & Whitney PW535E turbofans. Its structure uses 18 % composite material and has a 28,000‑cycle lifespan. The cabin holds nine passengers (ten with a single‑pilot), features a galley, a rear lavatory, and optional rotating seats. Avionics include a Garmin G1000 cockpit and a Garmin GFC700 autopilot, with later models adopting the Garmin‑based Prodigy Touch suite.
