Cessna 305c (0-1e)

Manufacturer: Cessna

The Cessna O‑1 Bird Dog is a lightweight, all‑metal, high‑wing liaison and observation aircraft that first flew on December 14, 1949. It entered U.S. Army service in 1950 as the L‑19 and was later redesignated the O‑1 under the Tri‑Service system. The aircraft was prized for its short‑takeoff and landing (STOL) ability, low‑speed flight, and excellent visibility, making it ideal for artillery spotting, forward air control, and medevac missions.
