Developed by de Havilland as the DH.125 Jet Dragon, it entered production as the Hawker Siddeley HS.125 and later became the BAe 125. The type was later marketed as the Hawker 800 and Hawker 1000 and sold more than 60 % of its 1,600‑plus aircraft to North America.
