The Aeronca Champion, often called the "Champ" or "Airknocker", is a single‑engine, high‑wing light aircraft with tandem seating for two. Designed for flight training and personal use, it entered U.S. production in 1945 and became one of the world’s longest‑produced light planes. The Champ was built by Aeronca, later revived by Champion, Bellanca, and American Champion, and was re‑introduced for the light‑sport category in 2007 before being discontinued in 2019.
